In October 1995, Millennium Computer Technology Corporation, a major IT distributor and shareholder in Continuum Technology Corporation, organized an independent division to handle the distribution of IBM Retail Store Solutions. The POS division launched the highly successful IBM SureOne entry-level Store solution in mid-1996. Due to its unprecedented success, the division was formally recognized by IBM Philippines as its best new business partner for 1996 by awarding it the “Rookie Business Partner of the Year” award. Additionally, the Millennium POS division was also recognized by the IBM regional organization based in Singapore by bestowing it with the “Most Outstanding New Business Partner in ASEAN” award in Istanbul, Turkey in April 1997. In June 1997, Continuum Technology Corporation was formally spun-off as a new company to operate as an independent entity with its own office in Makati.
