Energy Resources LLC has been founded in 2005 as a joint-investment of Mongolian private sector leading companies such as the MCS Group, Petrovis, Shunkhlai Group and others. Energy Resources LLC holds a mining license for Ukhaa Khudag coking coal deposit located in Umnugobi Aimag. In June 2008, based on the decision of the GOM, the company obtained a special permission to build the 270 km long railway link from Ukhaa Khudag to Gashuunsukhait at the Mongolian-Chinese border. The company's mission is to contribute to the economic development, industrialization and modernization of Mongolia with the vision of becoming the global coal and coal chemistry products manufacturing and marketing company. Apart of the coal mine and coal processing facilities at Ukhaa Khudag site, the company is also developing the support infrastructure projects such as combined heat and power plant, water supply pipeline, railway and so on.
